The English Goat Breeders Association is affiliated to the following two organisations:

Rare Breeds Survival Trust - www.rbst.org.uk

As from Spring 2020, the English Goat has been listed in the Rare Breeds Survival Trust’s Watchlist giving it the recognition of a UK Native breed at Risk. It is currently listed as a “Priority Breed” identifying it as requiring special attention to ensure it remains a viable, healthy native goat breed. Look out for it on the Rare Breed Survival Trust stands at agricultural shows.

British Goat Society - www.britishgoatsociety.com

Its a long time since there were sufficient English goats taken to shows for the British Goat Society to hold specialist English classes; currently they are shown in the AOV (Any Other Variety) classes alongside non-pedigree dairy goats. In order to show English Goats at a British Goat Society show they need to be registered with the BGS in the BGS Identification Register.

BGS recognised milking trials are available to English goats registered in the BGS Identification Register.
