Its always a tough decision to make whether to wether a male kid or not. Sometimes the decision is made because there are sufficient others of a particular breeding line, other times its because the goat doesn’t quite meet the breed standard, or has an unregistered parent and so cannot be registered itself. Wethering does open the career options for a male goat though; wethers make ideal non-breeding conservation grazers, as well as excellent pets and harness goats. And of course, they are an excellent source of meat.
Our judge will have quite a task here to decide the order of merit for these three boys.
